As with everything in life, you live and learn. Being an indie author has definitely been a learning curve.
I’ve written a little gift book for new mums: a stripped-back, tongue-in-cheek look at the realities of being handed responsibility for a brand-new human.
Normal Service Will Resume was inspired by watching my eldest daughter become a mum herself. Like so many new mothers, she struggled not only with the responsibility, but with the overwhelming feeling that she wasn’t doing enough. It wasn’t helped by the endless stream of perfectly curated mumfluencer reels that make motherhood look as effortless as getting your nails done.
The book was due to be released at the beginning of April, but formatting issues had other ideas. It’s currently in formatting hospital and should finally be out in the world within the next three weeks.
I only wish I’d found this formatter sooner—it would have saved me a lot of time, money, and headaches. But that’s indie publishing: you live and learn.
On the bright side, I now have a brilliant editor and formatter who works absolute magic.
More about it soon.
have a great week,
Eva x
